Michael Smith Obituary
Michael was educated in the Orleans Parish School system but later obtained his GED while in the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
Michael was a proud business owner of KME Flooring and Cleaning LLC and Meltte Tax & Financial Services LLC.
Michael was cheerful, friendly, loving, enthusiastic, happy, honest, adventurous, charismatic, very sociable, and talkative . . . but overall, he was LOYAL to everyone he encountered.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his fiancée–Evada Primus; children–Michael Kellup Lumar, Miquel "Micey" and Arshield "AJ" Johnson, Tyrese "Tada" and Tatiyana Primus, and Lyric and "Duchess" Mason; grandchildren–Cameron Johnson, Islam Gould, Sage Coler, Adaeze Primus, siblings Cody Robinson (Charmaine), Aisajanna Robinson, Keishawn Scott, Kayla Scott-Charles (Herbert), Shekeitha Kellup, Earl Kellup, Kentrell Kellup Hills (Carl), and Sterling Calvin. He also leaves behind his devoted friends and family–Cornell (WOP) and Kevin (NUT) Williams, Lovin and Jamal Wix, Anthony and Shantell Loudon, Garry Hill, Tayna Calvin, Vienka and Lisa Jackson, Robin Barkins, Kia Stradford, Shemika Holmes, Mike Wills, and Nyren Ruffin..
Michael was preceded in death by his mother–Veronica Smith Robinson; fathers–Michael Kellup and Carson Robinson; 2 stepsons– Eric Ransom and Tyree Primus; brother–Carson Jr., Ronnie Robinson, and Jamon Smith Sr.; nephews–Jamon Jr.; grandparents–Alfred and Doris Smith; Sarah and Isiah Kellup, Eddie and Cora Davis; uncles–Eddie Sr. and George Robinson; and cousin–Terrell Hollywood Jackson. Marion and Lisa Smith.
Family and friends are invited to the Celebration of Life on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Murray Henderson Funeral Home, 1209 Teche Street, New Orleans, LA 70114. The Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
The Repast will follow at Nola Lux Event Hall, 1784 Pace Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70114.
Professional Arrangements are entrusted to Murray Henderson Funeral Home, 1209 Teche Street, New Orleans, LA 70114.

My heart was shattered when I learned that you passed I was brokenhearted. I remember when you came to the New Orleans, Jazz and Heritage festival to hear me sing. He was so proud you screamed and you yelled that is my auntie. I'm really kind of lost for words. I'm truly sorry from the bottom of my heart.
That you went home to glory, from the first time I've met, you it's never been a dull moment. You always kept the party going kept me laughing with some kind of silly joke, always making sure we were good. And always thinking we needed a bodyguard...lolv but Thanks for making sure to protect us.I will miss those jokes, cause you sure cracked me up and you always made sure you kept a smile on somebody's face. So while you are in heaven telling jokes, making everyone laugh, keep the party going as you would say.
