Michael "Mike" William Speigle, age 83, died on August 21, 2025, in Huntersville, NC surrounded by loved ones, after a brief hospitalization. Mike was born on March 17, 1942, in Lancaster, OH to the late William (Bill) and Ethel Speigle. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 1960. He married Barbara Lee Gibson in 1962. He was employed at Big Bear Stores for 30+ years where he worked his way up the ranks all the way from bagger boy to Supervisor. The Speigle's moved to Huntersville in 1993. Mike was a lifetime NASCAR fan and after moving to NC he worked for Action Performance for @ 10 years, driving a big rig and selling souvenirs for Jeff Gordon. Mike was a loving and supportive husband, caregiver, father, and grandfather. He had a love of racing, football (Go Bucks and Go Browns) and taking care of the "wildlife" in his back yard (wild birds, hummingbirds, deer, and chipmunks). Mike and Barb enjoyed traveling all over the United States and cruising the Caribbean Sea. Mike is survived by daughters, Cheryl Speigle (Andy Beachler) of Huntersville and Kerri (Joe) Fink of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Jacob and Karissa Fink; and many nieces/nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife of 59 years, Barb; his parents, and brother Roger Speigle. There are no service plans at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org) in his memory. Mike was a longtime supporter of them due to Barb's diagnosis and passing. James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, is serving the family and obituary lovingly written by the family.
