Michael John Stefancik Jr., affectionately known as Mike, was born on August 17, 1952, in Independence, Missouri. He departed this life on December 23, 2024, in his home at the age of 72, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love.
A devoted life-time member of St. Mary's Church, Mike's education began there, where he attended grade school and high school. His commitment to his faith remained steadfast throughout his life, as he embraced the principles instilled in him during those formative years. Mike dedicated many years of his career to Roberts Dairy as a delivery driver. In this role, he not only fulfilled his job responsibilities but also formed friendships with those he met on his routes. His laughter and welcoming demeanor made him a well-known figure in the community, where he was cherished by many. Fondly remembered as a gentle giant, Mike had a profound ability to connect with others, never shying away from a friendly conversation or a helping hand. He was a man of many interests, with a great passion for camping, fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. Each year, he looked forward to an annual fishing trip with friends, where he would prepare his famous cabbage rolls to share. Mike also had a talent for tinkering, especially skilled at repairing broken fishing rods, showing his ingenuity and resourcefulness. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Mike achieved the rank of fourth degree, illustrating his commitment to his community and service. He proudly earned the title of Eagle Scout in Troop 221, a recognition that underscored his dedication to leadership and the outdoors. Above all, Mike cherished his marriage to his beloved wife and best friend, Becky. On September 23, 1995, they exchanged vows, committing to a lifelong journey together filled with love and companionship.
Mike's passing was preceded by his parents, Michael Stefancik Sr. and Dorothy Jeanne (Simmermon) Stefancik; his siblings, Gary Stefancik and Rita Wagner; and his step-siblings, Shawn Davis, James Collins, and Kelly Carnahan.
