Michael D. Steffes

Michael D. Steffes, age 56, of Woodhaven formerly of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 18, 2024 in his home.
Michael was born June 13, 1967 in Monroe, he was the son of Robert J. and Trudy A. (McDowell) Steffes.
He was a 1985 graduate of Monroe High School and earned his associate degree from Monroe County Community College. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Mike was employed by Ford Motor Company at the Deaborn Truck Plant.
He enjoyed attending sporting events and concerts, watching TV and playing cards with his family and friends.
Mike is survived by his parents, Bob and Trudy Steffes; two brothers, Shawn (Tina) Steffes of Monroe and Nicholas (Amanda) Steffes of Newport; nieces and nephew, Tyler (Brianna) Steffes, Samantha (Joshua) Giovannone and Alexandria (Collin) Veit; step nieces and nephews, Trevor (Emily) Tipper, Nicholas (Kaylea) Tipper, Dr. Nathan (Leigh) Tipper, Jonathon Bezeau, Jordan Bezeau and Zachary Bezeau; two cousins, who were like sisters, Loree (Eric) Nisley and Chris (Will) Hernandez; his best friend, Keven Cline and several aunts, uncles, cousins and their families.
He is preceded in death by a step nephew, Ryan Williams.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 12 noon at Bacarella Funeral Home. Deacon Michael Stewart will officiate, interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Gleaners Community Food Bank or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
