I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me,
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
to laugh, to love, to work or play,
tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that place at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
a friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

Obituary
Michael Stevenson was born on Decembre 21, 1961 in New York City, New
York and was one of four children born to Ms. Muriel "YoYo" Banks. Michael,
Dawn, April and George.
Michael received his education from Brandes High School in lower
Manhattan, as well as graduating while in the Job Corps, where he excelled
in learning a trade.
Michael Stevenson joined both the Carpenter's Union & the Electrical Union,
where upon completing his education in both of those fields, was a member
in good standing, before his sight started failing but while there, he was very
proficient in doing renovation and building structures. Michael was a "go
getter" and even though his sight was failing, he was faithful in seeking
employment to continue his journey
of independence by becoming employed in maintenance work for a woman
name Ismene who assisted Michael with both work and housing as well.
Michael was an avid fan of going to SkateKey where he enjoyed time on the
skating ring floor with friends and having a good time. Michael had great
abilities as a skater so you could be shown up if your skills was lacking. He
fancied himself as a dancer and could bust a few moves, if you let him tell it.
He also enjoyed riding his bike and getting around town to meet other
people as well as various places to go out to.
We would be remiss if I failed to mention here, two people who stood by
Mchael through thick and thin. Luis (Lou) Galarza and Ivan Cruz stayed by
Michael side in good times and in times of trials. These men opened their
family and their lives to every aspect, no matter the situation and if medals
could be given, gold would be a poor payment. We salute them all for they
have stored their treasures up with a clean heart.
Mike leaves a host of cousins, family member and friends, such people like
those who work for "Boss lady" Ismene, who showed love for him
continuously, provided a place of residence and employment, so that
Michael could remain independent. To you all, we are eternally grateful for
the kindness and love shown to him for it shall never be forgotten.
