Michael Wayne Stewart

Michael Wayne Stewart (Goofy) was born August 18, 1958, and earned his angel wings December 2, 2025.
So many people were blessed to know him, and he always remembered everybody, Mike enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and working on his 4-wheeler, and caring for his dogs.
Mike came near death more than once in his life. In 2019 he had to go to the emergency room and he died. They worked with him and after a few days in ICU he recovered. Mike told us that he saw Jesus, he washed Jesus' feet and asked for forgiveness, he said he saw a staircase and he started to climb, Jesus stopped him and told him he was forgiven. Jesus said when it was time he would have a mansion for him, but it wasn't his time yet, he could go and return to his wife, that was 6 years ago, God decided it was his time now.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents John Ray and Donna Marie Stewart, his brother John Boy Stewart, sister-in-law Cheryl Stewart, brother-in-law Paul Johnston, and his forever best friend his dog Sassy.
Mike is survived by his wife Loretta Stewart, stepson Ricky Jividen and his wife Stephanie; stepdaughter Jessica Grady and her husband Jeremy; grandchildren Nicholas and Brooklyn Jividen, Brennan and Ethan Grady; brother Terry Stewart; sisters Patty Youse (Bill), Kim Johnston, Tammy Walker (Brian); brother in law Clarence Shamblin (Diane); sister in law Lena Shamblin; his best friends David and Patty Bailey and their family; his dogs Max and Tabby.
A tribute to the life of Mike will be 3:00 PM Friday December 5, 2025, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home with Pastor Jaycob Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memory Gardens, Red House. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Friday, prior to the service.
