Michael R. "Mike" Stratton

Michael "Mike" R. Stratton, age 58, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids from cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa, WI. In Mike's memory, please wear your favorite Harley or sports apparel.
Mike was born on March 30, 1966, in Wisconsin Rapids to Robert and Patricia (Shymanski) Stratton. He graduated from John Edwards High School, Port Edwards. Mike worked as a Machine Tender at Domtar for 38 years, retiring after he was diagnosed with cancer.
Mike and the love of his life, Lori Weis, loved riding his Ultra Classic Harley. They traveled many miles together touring Colorado, Montana, Idaho, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
Mike had a beautiful smile and was very talented. He was an excellent mechanic, hand-crafted jewelry, and created beautiful pieces on his wood lathe. Mike enjoyed sports, spending time with his family, and music. He played the drums in the Free and Easy Band at age 14 with his dad. Mike was passionate about animals and donated to the Humane Society every year.
Michael is survived by parents, Robert and Patricia; siblings, Mark (Stacey) Stratton, Tami Stratton, and Brian (Tracey) Stratton; love of his life, Lori Weis; Aunts, Jo (Jim) Klevene, Janet Keyzer, and Doris Shafer; uncles, Terry (Judy) Shymanski and Ron (Kathy) Shymanski; his dog, Tucker; and two nephews and many cousins. Mike also had a special place in his heart for Lacie, Lilli and Leeta.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Margaret Shymanski, and Russell Stratton; aunts, Judy Anderson, Jean Bender, and Judy Shymanski; and uncles, Tom Shymanski, Richard Stratton, Robert Shafer, Gary Keyzer, Art Anderson, and Bernie Bender.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mike's name to the South Wood County Humane Society.
