BINGHAMTON - Michael Tarcha, Jr., age 89, faithful servant of God, devoted and loving hus-band, father, son, grand-father, brother, cousin and kind friend to all, left on his journey home to God August 22, 2024. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Chipak) Tarcha, son Michael Da- vid, and parents Michael Tarcha, Sr and Olga (Kulyk) Tarcha. He is survived by his son David John, granddaughter and son-in-law Sara and Todd Parsons, grandsons Benjamin and Noah. He is also survived by brother Nicholas (Nancy), Tarcha, sister Jane De Hawkhurst, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael was born on May 26, 1935 and spent many years helping his parents tend to the animals on his parents dairy farm on Farm To Market Rd. He had a gift for mechanical engineering, passed down from his father who could fix anything. He graduated from U-E high school where he began an apprenticeship with IBM which turned into a live-long career. Mike especially loved to work on cars and recently reminiscence his Ist car - a baby blue and white 56 Oldsmobile. He served his country and was a veteran of the U.S Air Force Reserves. Mike along with his wife Mary were among the founders of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Endicott, NY and spent many years on the church parish council. Mike loved singing and leading the choir, and was extremely dedicated to his prayer life. The family will receive friends at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 308 N. Page Ave., Endicott, N.Y. on Monday evening August 26, 2024 from 6-7:30pm. A Memorial Service (Panikhida) will be conducted at 6:00pm. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday August 27, 2024 at 9am at St. Nicholas Church. Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate may do so to the St. Nicholas Church Endowment Fund.
