Michael Terrigno, 94, of White Plains, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025.
Michael was born on September 29, 1930 in Macchiagodena, Italy, to Filippo Terrigno and Luisa Manocchio. He immigrated to the United States in 1949 and built a beautiful life surrounded by family and friends. He married Carolina Terrigno (Barile) in 1954 and spent 70 loving years together raising a loving family that will always cherish his memory.

He also spent 20 years working for the Board of Education as a fireman at PS 189 Bilingual School in Brooklyn, New York. Throughout his career, Michael was known for his hard work, dedication, and leadership.
In his personal life, Michael had a passion for gardening, tending to his plants with love and care. He also enjoyed making homemade wine, following the traditional Italian methods which is now passed down to his children creating long lasting memories.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Carolina; his daughters Louise Gentile (Nicola), Rosemarie Tellone (John), Joanne Forbes (John), and Christina Margiotta (Michael); his grandchildren, Sandra Gentile, Anthony Gentile (Jen), Nicholas Gentile, Angelo Gentile, Angelo Tellone, Johnny Tellone, Michael Tellone, Danielle Grascia (Michael), and Adrianna Margiotta; his great-grandchildren, Natalia, Dominic, Emma, Samuel, and Matthew.
He is predeceased by his brother, Angelo Terrigno (Patricia), and sister, Felicia Terrigno (Luigi). Michael was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his love and guidance will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
This wonderful husband, father and truly honorable man of God had returned home to his Father in Heaven, whom he loved so much. I wish I could have glimpsed into heaven the moment our Father in Heaven took my dad in his arms and exclaimed, “Well done my good and faithful son. Welcome home.” For the four daughters who were blessed to call him Dad, he was our rock. He dedicated his life to his family and work always putting others before himself, he instilled in his children the importance of hard work, kindness and perseverance, values that will forever guide their lives. He led our family in love and taught through example what it means to be loved. Thank you for teaching us the importance of gratitude, thank you for loving our mother, thank you for teaching us the value of hard work. We will miss you Dad but remember… until we meet again. We will love and remember you always.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 between the hours of 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Ballard Durand, 72 E. Main Street, Elmsford, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, a cause close to Michael’s families’ heart.
