Michael Bruce Thedford, 66, of Hamilton, passed away surrounded by his family on October 17, 2024 at Columbus Hospice.
"Bruce," as he went by to most, was born in Columbus, GA on July 22, 1958 the son of Donald Rudolph Thedford, Sr. and Christine Ethel Joiner Thedford. All his life he had been a loyal and hard worker. He worked as a commercial painter for his entire life and had been employed with Eddie Owens Paint Company for 25 years. He was very skilled in his craft as a painter. He loved rock 'n roll, particularly the sounds of KISS and John Mellencamp. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan. He loved the beach, it was the one place he loved to vacation to with his kids and often joked with his family that he was going to move to Panama City Beach. He was a hippie at heart, with a "peace and love" mindset. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Edsel Franklin Workman II; and numerous uncles.
He is survived by his children, Brandi (Robert Etheredge) Thedford of Box Springs, GA, Sean (Alicia) Thedford of Texas, Bradley Workman of Ft. Mitchell, AL, and Benjamin (Andrea) Rhodes of Smiths Station, AL; siblings, Donald (Sherry) Thedford, Jr. of Summerville, GA and sister, Sharon (Gil) Dyer of Phenix City, AL; Aunt Betty Harden of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Autumn, Aiden, Quinn, Austin, Dani, Keira, Summer, Sammie, and Bitty; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
