Michael Tiernan Obituary

Michael Tiernan

December 31, 1970 - November 15, 2025

Michael Patrick Dever Tiernan, 54, passed away on November 15, 2025, with his family by his side after a courageous battle with a progressive illness and cancer. Born on December 31, 1970, Michael (Mike) lived life entirely on his own terms - boldly, independently, and with a spark that drew people in. Known in his younger years as the party king of East Moline, he carried that same energy and charisma throughout his life.

A mechanic by trade, Mike had a love for cars and a remarkable talent for taking things apart and putting them back together better than before. He especially loved rebuilding engines, diving into home improvement projects, and becoming the unofficial family and friend "product researcher." Whether you needed advice on the best car, television, tool, or even a dehumidifier, Mike was the one you called - he always knew the answer, and he loved helping people find just the right thing.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents and three beloved uncles and an aunt. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Mary (Versypt) Tiernan; his sister, Molly, and brother-in-law, Paul "PJ" Foley; his aunt, Joanne De Coster; and many cherished cousins.

Mike's life was uniquely his - filled with curiosity, loyalty, and countless hours spent tinkering, fixing, and researching. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace, leaving behind memories that will bring smiles for years to come.

Memorials - Christ the King Social Concerns and Women's Choice Center in honor of his adoption.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, Ill. Visitation will be on hour prior to services at the church. Private entombment will be held in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline.

I also send condolences to his mom, Dad and family. I've heard about you and it's been good except for that Mike silliness where he likes to add stuff. Lol

Hey Mike. It's Sue. You know me. I've missed you I've missed seeing you and our doctor appointments together. Lol. My mom freaked out. She couldn't believe we did an appointment at Brett's together. Lol and the fun we had telling Evan he needs 5 dollars to get me back when I played mission impossible and you were the kidnapper. I think he offered a dollar or nothing. (My children must love me lol) We had a lot of fun. So many more times after that with and without evian lol. I don't know what he thought but it was all funny. Thank you for everything. I love you.

I hope his children know how much he thought of them and that they were loved. Especially the long conversations with his daughter and their shared love of fast cars. He was one of a kind.
