Michael Anthony Trudel passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in England on August 30, 1953, Michael traveled to the United States as an infant with his mother, beginning a remarkable life marked by service, creativity, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith.

Michael proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era as Petty Officer Third Class and served as a Radioman. A master of Morse code and a dedicated veteran, his time in the military deeply shaped his values. He followed in the footsteps of his father, who also served in the armed forces, continuing a proud family tradition of military service.

A graduate of Wayne State University, Michael earned his bachelor's degree and built a successful career as a writer in advertising, marketing, and technology. Known as a gifted wordsmith, he brought clarity, creativity, and insight to everything he touched.

Michael's love of sports was lifelong. A passionate hockey fan, he skated regularly-often with his son David and daughter-in-law Jacci-well into his 60s. He was an avid golfer, a devoted spectator at his children's athletic events, and a longtime coach, always cheering from the sidelines with pride.

His creative spirit extended to the stage, where he found a second home at the Grosse Pointe Theatre. Inspired by his mother's love of the arts, Michael acted, directed, produced, and even served as President of the organization. Theater was a joyful outlet that allowed his talents and leadership to shine.

Above all, Michael was a dedicated and loving father. He never missed a moment-attending every one of Elizabeth's track meets and David's lacrosse games. His presence, encouragement, and support were constant.

His faith was the foundation of his life. A devoted Christian, Michael was an active member of both St. Ambrose and Grace Community Church. He attended both services every Sunday and lived out his beliefs with quiet strength and sincerity.

Michael is survived by his children, David (Jaccelynn) Trudel and Elizabeth (Harsha Devaraj) Trudel; his stepmother, Carole Trudel; his siblings, Tony (Danielle), Noelle (Che) Johnston, and John (Dana); the mother of his children, Leslie Trudel; and his dear friend Ingrid Manns.

A celebration of Michael's life will take place on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, instate at 10:30 am until time of Mass, 11 am, at St. Ambrose Parish, 15020 Hampton St, Grosse Pointe Park.

He will be remembered for his heart, his humor, his fierce love for his family, and the legacy of kindness, creativity, and service he leaves behind.
