Patricia Ann Carroll-Adams passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born December 5, 1934 and

raised in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan.

Patti attended St. Clare of Montefalco for grade school and was a proud graduate of Dominican High School. At Dominican, she played on the inaugural women's basketball team as the first class allowed to play competitively.

She then attended the University of Detroit where she obtained her B.S. in Medical Technology and was active with the Kappa Beta Gamma Sorority. Patti worked for more than 40 years as a trailblazer in her field at St. John Hospital and later in her career taught courses in Hematology and Medical Technology at Macomb Community College.

Patti fell in love and married Edward Carroll, a history teacher, on November 23, 1957. They settled in St. Matthew's Parish where they raised their seven children.

After 42 wonderful years together, Ed passed away in 1999. Six years later, Patti found love again and married another teacher, Vaughn Adams, on July 24, 2005.

With a combined 12 children and 32 grandchildren, they were happily married, sharing a busy and active 12 years together until Vaughn's passing in 2017.

Patti enjoyed many sports throughout her life, was a voracious reader and an accomplished seamstress. She especially liked time spent up north, whether with Ed and their family at their lake house in Port Austin or with Vaughn at their condo on Walloon Lake.

A member of St. Matthew's parish, Patti was a devout Catholic and a dedicated and selfless volunteer. She led the annual Boutique for many years and supported Meals on Wheels and the St. Vincent de Paul programs.

She was predeceased by her first husband Edward Joseph Carroll and second husband Vaughn H.F. Adams, parents Mary Olive Steiner and Dr. Timothy Francis Lynch, her siblings James (Joan), Terrance (Margaret) and Mary Louise Henry (John Walker), her daughter-in-law Molly Carroll and grandson Sam Carroll.

(Thomas) Lessing, her children Mary Beth (Gary) Schmekel, Darcy Carroll, Matthew (Jenna) Carroll, Daniel (Molly) Carroll, Anne (Don) Crites, Laura (Ganesha) Ekanayake, Michael (Theresa) Carroll, and Vaughn's children Paul (Barbara) Adams, John (Margaret)

Adams, Mary Adams, Theresa (Bill) Zuerblis and James (Sandy) Adams along with 32 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Patti will always be loved and remembered for her passion and dedication to her Catholic faith, her work ethic, and for the love and joy she brought to her family.

Aunt Patsy was my father's (James Lynch) oldest sister. He always spoke warmly of her every time her name would come up. My family can also speak warmly of her. Patsy was 10 when I was born - her oldest niece. My first really strong memory of her was when we had Christmas at Nana Lynch's home and Aunt Patsy had just gotten married that November . She wore a white fur muff at her wedding. She gave it to me as a Christmas present that December. I never forgot that. (That was before she and Uncle Ed had any children of her own. )

She very willing offered to take two of us children when are family was totally split up for a few months. At the time she already had five children of her own. She was totally selfless in my mind and heart.

I had the wonderful opportunity to have spent some time with her six years ago. She had just moved in with her son Matthew and his beautiful wife. They kindly invited me to visit her at their home. She looked exactly like I remembered her. She was always so pretty. She shared a lot of good memories with me about my mom and dad and the Lynch family. She told me a story when she had slept over at Grandma Lynch's home our (great grandmother) and she heard Grandpa Lynch talking in his sleep in Gaelic. She also confirmed that Lynch Road ( where I caught the transfer bus to Wayne State University everyday ) was named after Grandpa Lynch.
My family totally loved and appreciated her. We know she is in heaven looking down on her loving family. Thank you Patsy for just being you - Totally beautiful inside and out.
