Michael Drew Wallis, 78, went home to be with the Lord suddenly on November 1, 2025.
Born in Alliance, he moved around before setting down roots and calling the Ravenna/Kent area home. He proudly served his country in the Army from 1968 to 1971. Michael had a varied work history but most loved his roles as a Postal Worker and a White Water Rafting Guide. He was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, the Burned Out Canoe Club, and the Cuyahoga Falls Stamp Club. He enjoyed collecting stamps, hunting, classic cars, reading, and white water rafting, from which he was known as “Wildman.”
Michael was all about faith, family, and freedom. He was known as a loving and kind man, always ready for a long conversation and a joke. His large smile and warm welcomes to everyone around him will be deeply missed. Everyone’s lives were richer for knowing him.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph H. and Tera O. (Barnett) Wallis, and his in-laws, Eugene and Pat VonMaluski. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Terri; children, Jeff (Cindy), Andy (Kara), Jacob, Abigail (Thomas); grandchildren, Zachary (Lindsey), Kim (Bryan Haas), Tim (Hayley), Hannah, Lauren, Joe; great grandchildren, Adam, Gavin, Brighton, Rowan; brother, Patrick (Sue); beloved dogs, Gracie Girl and Buster Brown; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and friends will be received Friday, November 7th from 10am to 12pm at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 2780 Canton Rd. Uniontown, OH 44685. A memorial service will begin at 12pm.
