Richard Wallis Obituary

Richard C. Wallis, 94, of Janesville, WI, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Cedar Crest.

Richard was a first-Generation American citizen. He was born on December 16, 1931 in Beloit, WI, the son of John and Anna (Yanulis) Wallis. Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Egypt and the Southern part of Africa where he was able to experience a rare snow fall. Richard married Colleen Geyer and they were married for 38 years before her passing on July 26, 2021.

Richard was formerly employed by the School District of Beloit as a janitor. In his younger years he enjoyed golfing and tending to his garden. Richard was known for his homemade coleslaw and famous porkchops. He made sure to share his recipes with family so the legacy would continue. Richard had the "Wallis Charm" which he proudly passed on to his son.

Survivors include his son, James (Amy) Wallis; step daughters, Alison Kwiatkowski, Jennifer (Steve) Sheiffer, and Amy (Dan) Swatman; grandchildren, Samuel Wallis and Aurora Wallis; other step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard was predeceased by his parents; step son, Peter Geyer; aunts, Mary Ann Yanulis and Vera Scollard; and uncle, Joseph Yanulis.

A Funeral Service for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
