Michael Clisten Wells, age 53, passed away at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington, IN, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. He was born in Danville, IN, on August 13, 1971 to Clisten Ray Wells Jr. and Karen S. Wells. Survivors include his children, Maleah Wells and Mason Wells; his parents, Clisten and Karen Wells; his brother, Garry Dean (Bonnie) Wells; his granddaughter, Skyler Dennis; his nephew, Garry Dean Wells II; and many beloved family members. Michael was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, Clisten Ray Wells, Beatrice Robbins, Morton Talley, and Fredia Talley. Michael left behind a legacy marked by professional achievement and spirit of adventure. An entrepreneur at heart, Michael owned a successful landscaping business at one point, which he nurtured from the ground up. His commitment to excellence was evident not only through his business accomplishments, but also in his academic pursuits. Mike excelled in his studies, earning multiple degrees, and being named on the Dean's List, a testament to his dedication and hard work. Beyond his professional and academic achievements, Mike had a profound love for travel. His journey took him halfway across the world, where he immersed himself in diverse cultures and experiences. His journey not only broadened his horizons, but also enriched his understanding of the world, contributing to his personal and professional growth. Michael's life was one of vibrant engagement of the world around him, marked by his entrepreneurial spirit, academic success, and adventurous soul. A memorial service will be held to honor his memory and celebrate his life. Further details will be provided to those wishing to pay their respects and commemorate a life well-lived. Mike's passing is a profound loss, and he will be remembered for his contributions to the landscapes he beautified, and the lives he touched.
