Michael D. "Mikey" Wickersham, the kind soul of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025.

Mike was born December 7, 1946. Mike came to Maryville, Missouri in 1993 and moved from Maryville to St. Joseph in 1996.

Mike served in the U.S. Army, where he learned to cook. Those skills served him well as he continued to cook in restaurants in Illinois and would pass on his culinary skills to others.

Mike loved the Lord, Pepsi, country music and Winstons. He had big brown eyes and a captivating smile that would draw people in to listen to his many stories that were always followed with a big, hearty laugh. Mike loved to sit outside and enjoy the days the Lord had given him.

Mike is survived by many friends that he cherished as family.

Mike appreciated all the care and love shown to him by the staff of Saxton's and the Chateau. Special thanks to the Public Administrator's office for helping him all these years and to Good Shepherd Hospice.

Mike loved everyone he met, especially if they had a cigarette to share.

The family will gather with friends 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Whispering Pines Cremation Garden at St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.
