Michael "Mike" Edward Wiggers, Sr., DVM, 77, of Taylors, SC, passed from Leukemia on January 24, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Born June 30, 1947, in Newberry, South Carolina. Mike was the son of the late Bernard Edward Wiggers and Doris Sheeley Wiggers.
Mike was a 1965 graduate of Mid Carolina High School. He attended Clemson University and after his junior year was accepted to the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Mike moved to Greenville, SC as an associate of the Ambassador Animal Hospital. An avid Clemson fan and a 53-year member of IPTAY, Mike received his diploma from Clemson University in 1976. In 2003, Mike became the owner of the Ambassador Animal Hospital until his retirement in 2013.
Knowing Mike, you knew family came first. He was a devoted husband, an amazing dad and a great friend. He was a man with great patience. He had the biggest heart that was always supportive and a man that was dearly loved for his kind nature and manor. Mike loved to play poker with his buddies, go fishing and adored his family, especially the relationship he had with his brothers.
Mike is survived by his wife, Christine Edens; his son Michael Edward, Jr. and his wife Laura Poole; his daughter, Jennifer Edens; and his grandchildren Samuel Edward and Ruth Edens. Mike is also survived by his brother Daniel Sheeley Wiggers and his wife Jackie; and Ernie Paul Wiggers and his wife, Hope along with nephews and nieces Jason Wiggers, Monaca Harrelson, Sloane Wiggers and Bryan Wiggers.
The family will receive friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greer, SC on January 27, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held on January 28, 2025, at 2:00pm at Pomaria Lutheran Church in Pomaria, SC.
Interment will follow in the Pomaria Lutheran Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pomaria Lutheran Church or Redeemer Lutheran Church Youth Group in Greer, SC.
