Michael Wilder, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, in Towson, Maryland, at the age of 79. Born on August 5, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia, Michael carried the warmth of his Southern roots throughout his life and into the hearts of those he encountered.
After completing his education in Atlanta, Michael embarked on a fulfilling career as a computer specialist for the federal government. His analytical mind and intelligent approach to problem-solving made him a respected figure in his field, and his adventurous spirit kept his colleagues and friends constantly engaged and inspired.
Michael's life was one marked by a passion for the simple joys. He was an avid builder of model planes-a pastime that allowed him to meticulously craft miniature worlds and share them with his sons, Michael Jr., Eric, and Phillip. His love for coin collecting was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his appreciation for history and the stories embedded in each piece. Michael's enthusiasm was contagious, and he could often be found at the movies or enjoying a meal out with his beloved wife, Paula, and his stepson, Keith Myers.
Those who knew Michael knew of his love for intellectual challenges and his keen sense of adventure, whether it was exploring new cuisines or delving into the latest technological advancements. His ability to analyze complex problems and articulate solutions was paralleled only by his generosity in sharing his knowledge with others.
In addition to his wife Paula and his 4 sons, he is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him and miss him very much.
As we bid Michael farewell, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life filled with love, curiosity, and an unwavering commitment to family and friends. Michael Wilder's journey was one of purpose and pleasure.
