Michael J. Willenbrink

Michael J. Willenbrink loving husband of Mona L. Willenbrink (nee Catanzaro), beloved father of Joshua M. Willenbrink, Lisa A. Henderson & Timothy S. (Jessica) Eckert, dear grandfather of Haydin, Sophia, Parker, Oliver, Penelope & Emma, devoted brother of Cathy (Chuck) Winkelman, Patty (Tim) Ogden, Deb (Chris) Spieles & Tina (Mike) Brophy and son of the late Jim and Joan Willenbrink. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & friends. Passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 58. Resident Pierce Twp., formerly of Anderson Twp.
Mike dedicated much of his life to caring for and serving others. Shortly after graduating from McNicholas High School, he began working for the Sisters of St. Joseph convent while working as an EMT for Union Township. Shortly after, he kick-started his career as a Firefighter/Paramedic at the Springdale Fire Department. For the last 28 years, he has served the Anderson community as a Firefighter/Paramedic, remaining a loyal and integral member of the Anderson Township Fire Department. An avid animal lover, Mike has owned, trained, and cared for many dogs over his lifespan. In recent years, Mike could be found volunteering for SoulStang, training and developing strong bonds with Mustang horses, especially Bodie. Most importantly, Mike was a family-oriented man, and loved to spend time with family and friends, especially his wife, Mona, his children, his grandchildren, and his dogs, Mia and Elsa. He will forever be remembered as a loving and caring man, ready to help at the drop of a hat. Mike's compassion for others, sense of humor, and jovial spirit will remain, living among all of those who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial at Guardian Angels Church, Mt. Washington on Monday, February 5 at 10:30AM. Friends may visit at the church on Monday from 9-10:30AM.
