Michael D. Willis, 86, of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at his home. Born in Ft. Madison, Iowa on September 27, 1938, he enjoyed the years he served in the United States Navy. He worked as an engineer for RCA and Harris for a number of years. Settling in Eustis, Florida with his wife Marilyn, they opened and ran “Eustis Outdoor Shop.” Michael loved the outdoors. He was an excellent bow hunter, skillfully making his own bows, and he was enthusiastic about hunting, fishing, camping and canoeing. Michael and Marilyn were well known for their captivating ballroom dancing. Michael had a special bond and love for his Yorkie "Chrissy".
Survivors are his daughter, Lisa (James) Loudon of Groveland, Florida, grandson, Jacob of Groveland, stepson, Thomas (Darla) Lovett and step grandchildren, Thomas, and Ty all of Quitman.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Marilyn, and his parents.
Cremation will take place, and no services are planned at this time.
