In Loving Memory Of
Michael H Wise
Michael (Mike) H. Wise left this earth on November 3, 2024.
Mike was born on June 24, 1953 in Chewelah, WA, to Delma Gertrude Wise (Nussbaum) and
Riley Kennedy Wise, where he lived the majority of his life.
On June 21, 1975, Mike married Jeannine Louise Yendes, whom he remained married to until
his death. Together they raised 2 daughters, Amy and Sarah.
For much of his life Mike worked in the logging industry either in local sawmills, falling logs and
finally moving to driving a logging truck for over a decade.. He eventually left the industry and
transitioned to working for Napa Auto Parts later in his career. He retired in 2013.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Many of his favorite
memories were of camping trips with family and adventures canoeing with his brother. He loved
going huckleberry picking and mushroom hunting. In recent years he could still be found
making nearly daily trips into the mountains where he found peace with nature.
Mike was an amateur nature photographer and his computer is filled with images of local wildlife
and scenery. In his retirement he took up golfing and could be found nearly every weekend at
the local golf course in Chewelah. He was a phenomenal cook, just like his mom. His
huckleberry scones, smoked brisket and almond toffee candy were family favorites. He was
also an enthusiastic sports fan. There was always some college or professional sports game on
the television. Of these, Gonzaga men's basketball was his favorite; he rarely missed a game.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Riley, and mother Delma.
He is survived by his wife Jeannine (Jean), Sister Judy, Brother Don, and Daughters Amy
Lawler (Darren), and Sarah Boyd (Sean), and grandchildren Leah Boyd, Madigan Lawler,
Megan Boyd, and Hailey Boyd, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of a funeral, a celebration of life is planned for the Spring 2025 to allow the friends and
family living far and wide time to come together to celebrate the life of this amazing husband,
father, brother and friend
