Michael John Yatooma

Michael John Yatooma of New Hudson passed peacefully from this earthly life on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old Born on October 4, 1943 in Tel Kaif, Iraq, and the first of 8 children of Hannah and Latifa Yatooma.
He arrived in the United States in 1947 with his mother, grandmother and brother George. Siblings that followed are Mary, Habooba (Sandy), Joseph (departed), Paul, Peter and Denise. He was educated in the Catholic school system here in the United States, served in the Air Force National Guard. Met his wife Kathy in Chicago, Illinois in 1970. They were married for 51 years. In which he became the beloved father of Adam (Tara) Hager Yatooma and grandfather ('Paka') of Brendin and Logan.
Michael worked in sales and management at A Mark Advertising, B & E sales and Ameritech. His last position was as Vice President for Stone August Baker Advertising before retiring. He was also the proud owner operator of both Community Food Service and Adam's Meat Fruit and Deli.
Michael loved life, people, laughter and music. He was always ready to tell another joke. He enjoyed international travel in his career and personal vacations, relishing seeing the world, meeting more people, learning new cultures and enjoying new culinary delights.
He will be greatly missed!!!!!
Son of the late Hannah and Latifa Yatooma, Michael is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathy Yatooma; son, Adam (Tara) Yatooma; grandchildren, Brendin and Logan Yatooma; siblings, George Yatooma, Mary (Ihor) Melymuka, Habooba "Sandy" (Bruce) Ready, Paul (Monica) Yatooma, Peter (Debbie) Yatooma, Denise (Athir) Bashi; sister-in-law, Karima Yatooma; also many extended family and dear friends.
Michael is also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph "Joe" Yatooma.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford 48381, on Tuesday, November 8th, at 2pm. Visitation will be from 12pm until the time of service.
