Michael "Mike" Yatsko Obituary
Michael "Mike" Lawrence Yatsko, 84, of Rockville went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 11, 2024. He was born March 24, 1940, in Terre Haute to Michael J. Yatsko and Helen Roberts Yatsko. Mike was a 1958 graduate of Garfield High School where he played basketball. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockville. Mike enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting, bee keeping, and mushroom hunting. Most of all he was a family man. His girls, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his most prized treasure and proudest accomplishment.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Linda Kay Ofsansky Yatsko, daughters Catherine and Jeff Sweatt, Lynne and Mack Adams, and Jodie and Gary Burton; grandchildren Corey and Rebecca Sweatt, Blake and Kat Bovenschen, Whitney Sweatt-Coombs and Morgan Coombs, Hanna and Elizabeth Bovenschen, Caleb and Katelyn Burton, Lucas Sweatt, Logan and Darianne Burton, and Riley and Stephanie Burton; great grandchildren Brady Bovenschen, Shelby Sweatt, Bryce Bovenschen, Eli Sweatt, Milena Coombs, Jackson Burton, Monroe Coombs, Maisyn Coombs, Max Burton, Jaden Sweatt, Porter Bovenschen, and Maverick Coombs, sister Alice Rhodenbaugh, and brother Jack and Jeanette Yatsko, extended family Mike and Mary Ofsansky, Bobby and Kelly Bovenschen and Jim and Sue Everhart, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert and Margie Yatsko.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Father Joby A. Puthussery will officiate. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held following the service at 60 North Main Street in Rosedale. Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
