Age 77, passed away peacefully at home December 8, 2025. Born March 22, 1948 in Buffalo, NY and lived in Amherst for the past 50 years. Retired from Chevrolet Tonawanda Engine Plant. Graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in 1966 and Canisius College in 1970. Along with his late wife Carol, Mike was an honored recipient of the Diocesan Lay Award of St. Joseph the Worker for his service to St. Louis Church, where he contributed in countless ways, including his involvement in the garden society and church museum. Mike was an extremely caring and thoughtful person who cherished those qualities in others and shared his affections openly and warmly. He had a wide circle of friends and was beloved by many, especially his adoring family. Predeceased by his beloved wife Carol Zobel (nee Naber). Loving father of Michael J., III (Dennise) Zobel and Karen B. (Devin) Palmer; devoted Baba of Jackson R. and Molly J. Palmer and, Sydney B. and Drew M. Zobel; brother-in-law of Ellen B. Naber, Patricia L. (late William) Perkins, Michael R. (Amy) Naber and the late Jane M. Zirnheld. Brother-in-law of William M. (Karen) Zirnheld. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the JOHN E. ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 280 Grover Cleveland Hwy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Louis Church, Main and Edward Sts., Buffalo, NY. Friends invited. Please assemble at church.
