Michaela L. Schlake Obituary
MADISON- Michaela Leigh Schlake, age 45, passed away on September 28, 2024.
Michaela was born on April 18, 1979, in Prairie Du Chien to Sidney Welsch and Robert Schlake. She was a graduate of Montello High School, went to Madison Area Technical College to receive her Police Science Degree and then to Upper Iowa University to complete her love for education. Michaela worked 15 years for the Dane County Sheriff's Department and then 3 years at Dane County Public Health. She was very proud and loved her career with Dane County.
She leaves behind her son, Tyler McCullom, mother Sidney Welsch, father Robert Schlake, brother Jason (Charity) Schlake, niece Cora Schlake, nephew Parmer Schlake, and a loving family of aunt Shari Russ Hampton, cousins Roland Welsch, Spencer Welsch, Craig (Sara) Hampton, Ed (Lee) Tesar and Kyle Tesar. Michaela also leaves her special group of friends who have been there throughout her life.
She was preceded in death and welcomed to heaven's doors by her grandmother Danella Pascoe, adored dog Roxie, and special close family and friends.
In 2015, Michaela's world changed when she became very ill. For the next 9 years she was a warrior fighting for her life and stayed with us to be there for her son, Tyler. Michaela was strong beyond words. She wouldn't give up as Tyler was the pulse of her life.
Michaela had a passion for fashion, style, cosmetology, music, and anything that sparkled. The world was brightened through her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes.
With great honor and leaving behind a legacy, Michaela gave the gift of life through organ donation. Thank you to the caring staff at UnityPoint Health-Meriter and UW Health.
Until we meet again, we love you to the moon and back.
Memorials may be directed to Michaela's son and mother at 2907 Crestwood Lane, Grand Marsh, WI 53936.
Memorial services pending.
