Michaelene Marion Bubser, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024, surrounded by family. Born July 11, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to Bruno and Michaelene Balcunas, she later married Robert Solak Sr., with whom she shared a very rewarding life of 23 years and gave birth to their children Karen (Robert) Kay, Cynthia Solak, Susan (Scott) Morris, and Robert Jr. (Jennifer) Solak. After Robert's passing, she found joy again in her marriage of 20 years to Lawrence Bubser, holding a special place in her heart for her stepchildren Michael (Judith) Bubser, Brian (Kimberly Adams) Bubser, and Keith (Nicole) Bubser. The legacy she leaves behind is further carried by her grandchildren Taylor, Craig (Emily), Paige, Megan, Allison, Kaitlin, John, Luke, Tyler, Sydney, Avery, Braeden, Arden, Keilee, and Lauren, who will all miss her deeply. She is also mourned by her siblings, Beverly (Robert) Mocarski and Dennis Balcunas, and preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bruno Balcunas, Jr. Michaelene's zest for life included cooking delicious Polish dishes for friends and family, maintaining a bountiful garden and being ever present in her grandchildren's activities. After a career in the insurance industry, in which she worked her way up from clerk to marketing executive, she retired and took time to travel and enjoy life with her husband Larry. She loved visiting the National Parks and playing the slots at her favorite casinos. Her absence will be profoundly felt, but her strength and spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her. There will be a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on June 10th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 W Church St, Johnsburg, IL 60051.
