Micheal Laine Plumlee

September 21st, 1949 – September 20th, 2025

Mike Plumlee, 75, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 20th. He was born on September 21st in Hollis, Oklahoma to Truman and Marie Plumlee. They later moved to Borger, Texas where he grew up.

He is survived by his two children, Melissa Plumlee of Austin, Texas and his son, Aaron Plumlee and wife, Cody of Tomball, Texas. Mike was also a loving grandfather to his two granddaughters, Kennedy and Keagan Plumlee. Mike was married to Judie Plumlee for 42 years.

Mike graduated from Borger High School in 1967, where he excelled in all sports including football, baseball, and basketball.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas State University, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He began his career in teaching and coaching at Lubbock High School, where he was the head baseball coach and assistant varsity football coach. He also taught Senior government and Social Studies. After 6 years of teaching and coaching, Mike began his long-term career in the business world working for Universal Computer Systems in Houston, where he became a Regional Sales Manager. In his later years, he became a residential property appraiser and started his own company.

Mike loved all things sports, especially the New York Yankees and the Texas Longhorns. He was an avid golfer and cherished the many golf outings he had with his son, Aaron. He was always up for a trivia challenge with his daughter, Melissa.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Marie Plumlee, and his brother, Reggie and Kenny Barnett of Borger.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be planned for a later date.
