Michele Elaine Henry, 67, of Sioux City passed away Monday, May 9, 2022 at her residence after a long illness.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Michele was born April 8, 1955 in Sioux City, the daughter of Phillip and Marlene (Durham) Henry. She attended Central High until its closing and was in the first graduating class from West High School in 1972. She then attended Briar Cliff University where she studied English and French and French cooking.
Michele worked at the Tommy Dale Memorial Home for a short time and then Holy Spirit Retirement Home until where she was a dedicated kitchen manager until retirement. She loved reading poetry or a good book, shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family. She also used to write some poetry of her own. Michele was a former member of the Catholic Daughters she served as recording secretary for a term. She also loved to volunteer at the church both St. Boniface and the Cathedral of the epiphany. Through the church she also enjoyed volunteering at the soup kitchen often.
Survivors include her siblings: Peggy Henry (Dave Widner), Steven (Christine) Henry, David Henry, Joan Henry, Matthew (Stephanie) Henry, and Melissa (Lance) Flaugh; nieces and nephews: Ghosthorse Zephier, Phillip Henry Jr., Anthony (Sarach Debrouse) Henry, Laura Henry (Jake Dickes), David Henry, Amanda Henry, Michael Henry, Matthew Henry Jr., Mariah Henry, Mark Henry, and Noah Henry; and several great nieces and nephews.
Michele was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Phillip.
