Michele Marie Leininger

Michele Marie Leininger (née Cooper), age 63, of Hartford, Wisconsin, passed away on January 10, 2026.
Michele was born on May 17, 1962, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Ronald and Geraldette (Peachey) Cooper. From an early age, she embraced a love for family, nature, and living life fully. These are qualities that defined her throughout her years.
Through mutual friends, Michele met the love of her life, John Leininger. They were married on August 25, 1986, and together built a life centered on love, laughter, and family. Michele thrived in a busy household and was never happier than when she was surrounded by those she loved.
An avid outdoorswoman at heart, Michele found her greatest joy under open skies. Whether she was hunting, fishing, camping, tending her garden, or cooking outdoors, she felt most at peace in nature. She had a special talent for creating beautiful flower arrangements, bringing the colors of the outdoors inside. Michele also loved attending car shows, craft fairs and cherished long motorcycle rides, taking in the scenery and the simple freedom of the open road.
Michele is survived by her devoted husband, John Leininger; children James (Marissa), Melissa Neveaux, Jill Darrow, Cody Neveaux, Lucas Leininger, and Isaiah Leininger; stepchildren Jason (Mecca) Curtice and Samantha (Mario) Alvarez; beloved grandchildren Jeremiah, Amira, Kiana, and Grace DeNeiro. She is further survived by her siblings Isaiah Leininger and Eric Cooper Sr., as well as her nephews Eric Cooper Jr. and Jason Curtice.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Geraldette; father and mother-in-law Don and Shirley; sister Nikki; sister-in-law Mary; and many other cherished family members and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather on January 21, 2026, at Shimon Funeral Home, (824 Union Street, Hartford, Wi 53027), from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m.
