Deborah "Deb" Lyn Leininger, 56, of Palmetto, Fla., died unexpectedly November 20, 2025, at her home.
Her absence is keenly felt by those who loved and knew her.
Deb was born in Lorain to parents Linda (nee Hurn) and Robert "Bob" Lloyd. She was a graduate of Lorain High School and Kent State University and built a career as a director of informational technology in a male-dominated field.
Her real passion in life was her family.
She was the mother of four kids, who survive her: Jeremy (Amanda) Vanderpool, Courtney (Billy) Koubek, Brittany Leininger and Jordan (Rebeca) Leininger. They were her first thought of the day and her pride.
She taught her children that there is no such thing as failure, only winning and learning. If you grow from an experience, she would say, you never truly fail.
Until Deb died, she was their daily phone call: while waiting in the pick-up line at a grandbaby's school, any time they were driving, on their way home from work.
She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, whom she possibly loved even more.
Deb is survived by her husband of 31 years, Charles "Chuck" Leininger, who believes she was the best person he's ever known. The couple recently moved to Florida, after residing in Virginia for many years.
She is also survived by her parents, Bob and Mary Lloyd; her brothers Robert "Bobby" Lloyd, Shawn (Meghan) Lloyd; and sisters Tonya (Tony) Nanni and Karlee (Adrian) Taylor; and a host of cousins and family members from Tennessee to Boston.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Hurn; and grandparents James and Rosella (nee DeVault) Hurn and James Lloyd Sr. and Ellen (nee Carney) Lloyd.
She is already missed by friends, drawn to her legendary sense of humor, ability to offer up a movie quote for all situations, and her kindness. Deb loved to travel, especially to Paris, and experiencing new food, new cultures and adventures. She thoroughly indulged a fascination with the British royal family and had a special love for his purple highness, Prince.
She loved deeply, laughed loudly and left the world brighter than she found it.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at A Fresh Wind Church, 45155 Telegraph Rd., Elyria. Her husband, the former pastor of Elyria Baptist Church, will officiate the service. A reception dinner will follow.
Her family intends to take her cremains to the Eiffel Tower, where she always said she would like to remain.
