Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brookside Funeral Home and Crematory - Ellensburg on Jan. 29, 2026.
It is with great sadness yet immense gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Michele Lee Lenberg, a beloved family matriarch, on December 13, 2025. Born to her parents Roger and Barbara Mathiason on April 29, 1969, in
Renton, WA, Michele brought joy, laughter, and a radiant light into the lives of everyone she touched. A charismatic spirit with a resilient heart, her life was a testament to the virtues of love, strength, and generosity.
Michele was a spirited and dedicated paralegal in Social Services, where she used her skills and compassion to make a difference in the lives of many. Her resilience and determination were evident in her work, but it was her generosity and unyielding love for her family that truly defined her. Michele was a devoted wife to Tom Lenberg, her rock and partner in life. She was an adoring mother to Thomas (Beeta) Lenberg, and a loving stepmother to Anthony and Kathleen Lenberg. Her charismatic charm was a beacon of light in the lives of her grandchildren Liam, Nolan, Mira, Zane, Bruce, and Ander, who were the apples of her eye. Alongside her human family, her beloved Dalmatians were her cherished companions, always by her side.
Outside of work, Michele was passionate about camping, yard work, and above all, spending time with her family. She grew up in Ellensburg & loved everything Eastern Washington had to offer & loved her home here in Selah. Even when her illness wouldn't allow her to do the things she wished she could do, she still would help those around her with her love, her laughter, or anything else she might have to make the situation better. She spoke from her heart and was honest with her feelings. Her spirit, though no longer with us, is forever immortalized in the memories we share of her. As we remember Michele, we turn to the comforting words of Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die..." Today, we celebrate Michele's time on Earth, her love, her laughter, and her lasting legacy.
Michele was preceded in death by her father, Roger Mathiason. She is survived by her husband Thomas Lenberg, her mother, Barbara Mathiason. Her memory is also carried on by her brother, Michael Mathiason, her son, Thomas (Beeta) Lenberg, her stepchildren, Anthony and Kathleen, along with her beloved grandchildren, Liam, Nolan, Mira, Bruce, Ander, and Zane.
We invite family and friends to reminisce and reflect, sharing their memories of Michele on her memorial page. Please feel free to upload photos and mementos that capture the beautiful moments and the joy that she brought into our lives. Her generous spirit, resilience, and charismatic charm will forever remain in our hearts. We love and miss you here on earth, we also know you have made the heavens a brighter place.
