Michele "Shelly" A. Wintle 58, of 34 Thistle Drive Cranston died peacefully on Sunday morning August 25, 2024 after a long, hard fought battle against multiple illnesses. She was the beloved daughter of Margaret (Stevens) Wintle of Cranston and the late Michael Wintle, sister of Mary Hassan and husband Bob of Barrington, and Melissa Davy and husband David of North Kingstown. Michele was also the aunt of Kelly Facincani and spouse Sara of Cumberland, as well as Adam and Samantha Davy of North Kingstown.
Born in Boston, Michele was a lifelong resident of Cranston where she was educated by a dedicated group of special education teachers in the Cranston Public School system. She then spent many years surrounded by the caring and supportive staff members of Access Point, formerly known as Cranston ARC. In her final years, Michele lived in a loving home in Garden Hills where she was surrounded by the dedicated caregivers of West Bay RI. Throughout her life, Michele enjoyed many activities including participating in the Special Olympics, bowling, swimming, boating, singing and spending time drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee with her friends and family. She never missed an opportunity to tell someone "I like your haircut!" or "You look nice!"
A Celebration of Michele's life will be held on Thursday August 29, 2024 in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Visitation with the family will begin at 5:00pm with the Service beginning at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Bay RI (www.westbayri.org) or HopeHealth (www.hopehealthco.org).
