Michelle Dawn "Shelly" Croft

Michelle "Shelly" Dawn Croft, age 50, of Elizabeth City, NC, died on December 30, 2025. She was born in Monmouth County, NJ, on July 9, 1975, to the late David Holmes Adams and Sarah Ann Miller Adams, and was the wife of 29 years to Robert Bryant Croft.
Shelly was a devoted homemaker whose life revolved around her family. As a loving and cherished wife to Robert, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to nurturing their home and raising their four children: Alexis, Skylar, Dakota, and Robert. Her family was her greatest joy and achievement.
Shelly had an enduring love for the beach, where she found peace and happiness. She took great pride in her New Jersey roots, always carrying a piece of her beloved home state with her. An exceptional cook, she delighted in preparing meals for her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Shelly is survived by her husband, Robert; their children, Alexis, Skylar, Dakota, and Robert; and her brother, David Holmes Adams, Jr.; along with numerous friends who were touched by her kindness and warmth. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents.
Shelly's gentle spirit, unwavering dedication to her family, and the love she gave so freely will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and care will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Twiford Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Adam Collins officiating.
