Michelle Rene Donner, 57, of Midwest City, OK went to be with her lord and savior on Monday, July 29, 2024. After a long battle with multiple health issues, a recurrence of colon cancer was too much to overcome. She is finally at peace.
Michelle was born January 1, 1967, to William and Aletha Tarkington in Midwest City, OK. She graduated from Choctaw High School with academic honors in 1985 and attended Rose State College and the University of Central Oklahoma Nursing School. She worked for several years at Tinker AFB as a clerk. Michelle was a loving single mother to son Christopher. She married her husband Randall Donner on September 6, 1997.
Growing up, "Shelly" enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and loved summers at lake Eufaula. She loved family gatherings, especially holiday feasts at grandmas. Michelle was an avid music fan, but a true fanatic for her beloved U2. She also loved her many furry friends through the years including Spike, Jade, Pugsley, and Ziggy. Michelle enjoyed crafting, creating unique cards for many occasions. Her volunteer work with the Metropolitan Library Literacy Program gave her immense gratification.
Michelle enjoyed travelling with her husband to many parts of the country visiting friends and family. Many of their trips coincided with U2 tour dates. They attended at least one show during every tour since they met.
Michelle is survived by her husband of 27 years, Randall, and son Christopher Blake Tarkington and his wife Samara Tarkington; Her mother Aletha Ranna (Freeman) Tarkington; Her brother William Scott Tarkington; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father William Eugene Tarkington, sister Staci Ann Matthesen, and grandparents W.W. Tarkington, J.B. Tarkington, C.W. Freeman, and Gladys Loraine Freeman.
Michelle rediscovered her faith and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park November 11, 2006.
