Michelle Marie Poiencot Harker, a resident of

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Eunice and Hubert Tivet, paternal grandparents, Dolly and Malcolm Poiencot, her mother-in-law, Diane Harker, her father-in-law, Floyd Harker, and her godmother, Donna Poiencot Blanchard.
During her lifetime, she was employed by Terrebonne General Medical Center, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office and various government agencies. Michelle was blessed with a gentle and radiant spirit that provided her many lifelong friendships, which she cherished dearly. She loved gardening, raising monarch butterflies, crafting and above all else, spending time with her grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye.
Michelle loved spending time with her husband, children, parents, sisters, and girl cousins, who were all like siblings to her. She enjoyed taking trips to the coast, shopping, and bonding during her many girls' trips with family. She loved spending quality time reminiscing about old memories with her favorite "old people" at her parents' house. She took pride in her title as "Honey" to her grandbabies. She never missed a day in her chair with Mayci by her side, with her favorite coffee in hand. She always arrived with the best gift for the occasion. She always had a giving heart with pure intentions. She truly was a one-of-a-kind and will be missed profoundly.
A message from Michelle herself,
" Life today is living one day at a time with a lot of gratitude despite the small issues that keep popping up. Living with gratitude for still being around, gratitude for friendship, gratitude for kindness, gratitude for support, gratitude for the care from my selfless husband and family, gratitude for the cuddles of my grands. Today, I don't just celebrate a date, I celebrate life, I celebrate my strength. I celebrate each scar as a symbol of overcoming. If I can leave a message for anyone reading today, it's this: never underestimate the power of hope, faith, and the will to live. To everyone who has been a part of this journey: my deepest thanks. -M "
Lastly, the words Michelle never left a room without saying, "Love you, Mean it!"
The family would like to thank the staff at Mary Bird Perkins, East Jefferson General Hospital, especially ICU nurses, Angelle & Hailey, Bayou Cane Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance, and Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office for their loving support and care.
