I learned how to hold space for people. To walk beside them, sit with them, sit near them, just be, for people in pain, going through difficult times, or just sad. She showed me how to show up for people.

We vacationed together - and nobody vacations like Michelle! When we were in Cancun..or maybe P.V., she would get the canopy beds by the water and we could lounge, read, drink, smoke, sleep - whatever your fancy. She knew how to vacation!

Michelle, my sister Hannah and I all stayed up one night on a family cruise trip and talked till 3 in the morning. I don't even remember what we talked about but just being with sisters was the best thing ever.

Sending my condolences. I worked with Michelle for many years and was so saddened to hear of her passing. She was one of a kind and was so passionate about her work with families.

My deepest condolences to all of my dear friends family. Michelle was very much loved and was genuinely the kindest most loving person. I will cherish all the times we spent together laughing and having a good time... Heaven gained a beautiful angel that´s for sure.

Heartbroken when I received the news. Michelle was a true leader in our community and gave her heart and soul to the kids in New Mexico. She dedicated her life to protect and fight for kids who could not fight for themselves. I had the great honor to work beside Michelle and her staff while overseeing the CACU with APD. She was a great friend who supported me after retirement in mentoring youth in the program she help develop. I can guarantee you she will continue her work above and will be watching over us!! I still remember training her in my boxing and bootcamp classes like it was yesterday!!! Once of my greatest memories was getting her in the ring to spar!!! !! May you rest in Peace Michelle xoxo Coach! (Ruben P. Griego, Retired LT APD)
