Michelle Laveen Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 25, 2025.
Michelle Anne Laveen, 64, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 19, 2025, in Arizona.
Born on July 17, 1961, and raised in Arlington Heights, Illinois, to Ruth and Walter Laveen, Michelle carried the warmth of her Midwestern roots throughout her life. She was a proud graduate of the University of Arizona and later earned her master's degree in education, a reflection of her lifelong passion for learning and helping others grow.
Michelle was a woman of gentle sincerity and boundless kindness. To those who knew her-and even to strangers she met only briefly-she radiated a sense of trust and safety. She possessed a rare gift for listening, often finding that people would instinctively open up to her, sensing her genuine care and lack of judgment.
As a devoted 3rd-grade teacher at William C. Jack Elementary School, Michelle's commitment to her students extended far beyond the classroom. She quietly provided clothes, lunch money, and birthday gifts for students in need, ensuring they always felt valued. Even years after they left her class, she continued to show up for them, attending their college plays and sports games, celebrating every milestone.
She was a person of "childlike sweetness," someone who made friends effortlessly and found her greatest joy in the happiness and comfort of others.
Michelle is survived by her daughter, Annie Seddington.
In keeping with Michelle's lifelong compassion for the vulnerable, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to local animal shelters or organizations supporting underprivileged children.
