Michelle Tiffany Waithe (affectionately known as Tiffy, Meeshy, Chellz, and Chelly), the youngest of two siblings, was born in the Bronx on September 6, 1986, to Bazil and Marcia Waithe.
Michelle spent her early years in the Bronx before her family relocated to Plainfield, NJ, where she spent her formative, teenage, and adult years. She graduated from Plainfield High School in 2004 and completed some college at Union County College in Cranford, NJ. She stayed in Plainfield during her adult years before moving to North Plainfield, NJ, where she remained.
Michelle previously worked as a bank teller, then eventually moved on to work in customer service and accounts payable. She was known to be organized, focused, determined, detail-oriented, reliable, and loved to plan ahead.
Michelle loved hard and radiated kindness, empathy, and strength while touching the lives of each person who crossed her path. She left a huge impact, from her smile to her hugs, to her light. She loved life and found any opportunity to embrace the moments, no matter how big or small. She loved all things Anime, Technology, art (anything Vincent Van Gogh), gaming, plants, fitness, movies, music, sneakers (especially her Vans and Converses), quality time with friends and family, coffee, tea, and great food.
She reminded those around her how much she loved them by giving gifts, making daily phone calls, offering suggestions on how to upgrade any device she felt was outdated, offering financial education, and sending reminders about anything you may have mentioned to her at any given time, inside jokes and saying "I love you" as often as she could.
Michelle Tiffany Waithe departed the earthly realm and entered the spiritual realm peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 4, 2024, after her battle with breast cancer.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Denzil and Lillian Waithe, Gerald and Theodora Branford. Her aunt, Norma Waithe, and her Uncle, James DaCosta Rouse
Michelle Tiffany Waithe is survived by her parents, Bazil and Marcia Waithe, and sister, Christine Alana Waithe, along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, May 9 from 4:00-8:00pm at Memorial Funeral Home in Fanwood. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10 at 10:00am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
