Michelle Renee Ann Sanchez Woodson, 50, died September 10, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born February 9, 1971, in Hutchinson, to Joe M. and Carol A. (Castro) Sanchez.
Michelle graduated from Hutchinson High School, in 1989. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, where she was also the secretary for 15 years. Michelle also served on the Altar Society and participated in the Adoration Chapel. She was a "little sister" in Big Brothers/Big Sisters and served on the board of St. Rose of Lima.
Known for her infectious laugh and love of cooking, Michelle also enjoyed dining and dancing with friends and family, and traveling.
On February 14, 1989, she married Kenneth E. Woodson, in Hutchinson. He died April 18, 2006.
Michelle is survived by: son, Alan Woodson (Tim Miller) of Hutchinson; father, Joe Sanchez of Hutchinson; siblings, Anthony Castro of Denver, CO, Deborah Castaneda of South Hutchinson, Cynthia Sanchez of Hutchinson, David Sanchez of Columbia City, IN; stepchildren, Dene Morris of Texas, Gene Morris of Hutchinson, Tyronne Woodson of Hutchinson; godchildren, Marcelino "Lino" Castaneda of Fort Collins, CO, Jayla-girl Bynum of Hutchinson, Amarion "Zae" Sanchez-Thompson of Hutchinson; godparents, Joe Castro and Jody Castro of Hutchinson; "babies", MeMe and Izzy; numerous grandchildren and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by: her mother; grandparents, Joe and Lucy Castro, Sr. and Paul and Mary Ojeda, Sr. (who were like parents).
Parish Rosary will be 7 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021, and Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple St., South Hutchinson, with Father Eric M. Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Michelle Sanchez Woodson Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
