Mickey Wayne Sims, age 72 of Rutherford, TN, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services for Mr. Sims will be conducted on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 2PM in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer, with Bro. Andy Rice officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Kenton. Visitation for Mr. Sims will begin Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 5PM – 8PM in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer.
Mickey Wayne Sims was born on June 2, 1951, to the late Reese and Beuna (Hundley) Sims. Mickey was a retired maintenance worker with H & O Tool and Die. Mickey enjoyed time at the lake and relaxing with family and friends.
Mickey is survived by three children, Trayce Sims, Shane Sims and wife Andrea, and Trent Sims; two brothers, Jimmy Sims and wife Cathy, and Steve Sims; and six grandchildren. Mickey was preceded in death by his wife, Doris June (Cooper) Sims; his parents, Reese and Beuna Sims; and two sisters, Janet Laura Coleman and Toni Rita Carlton.
