Migdalia "Lilly" Rivera

Migdalia Rivera aka "Lilly", daughter of Francisca Rivera and Jose Rivera Sr., was born on January 6, 1960, in Manhattan, New York. Migdalia grew up in Columbus Homes in Newark, NJ with her brothers and sisters and met many different people over the years. She attended Garfield Street School, Webster and Barringer High Schools. Migdalia worked at various blue-collar jobs.
Migdalia loved to listen to all kinds of music. She loved to play dominoes and loved to play pool. Migdalia always protected and helped her children, siblings, nieces, and nephews with no questions asked. She was always the life of the family parties, dancer, family's best decorator, and the best Spanish food cook. Migdalia passed away at the age of 65.
Migdalia is survived by her children: daughters Paricia Martinez (son-in-law Asmar Webb), Monica Martinez, Yesenia Martinez-Woodson (son-in-law Lamar Woodson), and son George Martinez Jr.; her grandchildren: Omar Martinez, Roxann Richard-Martinez, Sahib, Nasir, Taeshaun, Troy, Devon, Daniel, Brianna, Yah'Naisa, and Tamiyah; her great-grandchildren: Quadirr, Arya, and Kha'Sirr; her Goddaughter Norma Rivera; her siblings: Carmen Aleem, Rosa Echols, Marisol, Lucia, and Victoria Rivera; sister-in-law Blanca Rivera, and brother-in-law Atif Aleem. Migdalia has a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Migdalia aka Lilly also leaves her best friends: Valerie Reynolds, Magdalena Rodriguez, Edwin aka Chino Ortiz, Carmelo Ortiz, Richard aka Rickie Virnet, and Stacey Webb.
Migdalia was cared by her children and sister Rosa Echols. Migdalia fought a good fight and pushed until the end. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
Migdalia aka Lilly Rivera was preceded in death by her mother Francisca Rivera, father Jose Rivera Sr., sisters Frances Martinez and Frances Rivera, brothers Jose Rivera Jr. aka Chino, Orlando aka Sugar Dee, Pedro Rivera aka Omar, Angelo Rivera aka A.J. Valentine aka Benny, Roberto aka Glingo and Daniel Rivera, a brother-in-law Tyrone Echols Sr., and three nephews Daniel Rivera, Victor Rivera and Manuel Rivera.
