Mike Deal, 58, died Sunday, June 30, 2024, in Johnsonville, SC. A son of the late Rose Whitt Deal and Raymond Lee Deal, he was born Feb. 24, 1966, in Nashville, TN, and spent time growing up in Sweden and New Zealand.
After completing a certificate program in 1986 from Christchurch Polytechnic-New Zealand in retail meat production, packaging and marketing, he earned a certification from North Carolina State University in application of HAACP principals. He went on to serve as manager, supervisor and superintendent at major meat producers in North Carolina, Indiana, and South Carolina before becoming a maintenance engineer for various coastal properties. His most recent position was at the Hampton Inn, Georgetown Marina Landing, SC, where he worked the past 14 years.
