Mike Gaston, age 72 of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Osage Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 6th at the funeral home.
Michael Eddie Gaston was born on November 22, 1950 in Gatesville, to the late Ollie and Thelma Sims Gaston. He attended school in Gatesville and was in the Class of 69’. In school, he was very athletic, playing baseball and football. Growing up, he attended Calvary Baptist Church, where he was Baptized at the age of twelve. During the summers, he worked with his father for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Gatesville. He married Jackie Talley on March 26, 1969. They resided in Waco and Gatesville, until moving to Brownwood. He worked for Coca-Cola, Darr Equipment and Prater Equipment until his retirement. They moved back to Gatesville in 2011. His hobbies included drag racing, working on race cars and participated in car shows with his antique car collection. Mike was full of energy and was always busy doing something. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He was an animal lover and after his retirement, his three yorkie puppies were his fond companions.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joan Gilliland; brothers, Don Gaston and Jerry Gaston.
Mike is survived by his wife, Jackie Gaston; daughters, Michelle Williams and boyfriend, Mark Williams, Christi Allen and husband, Doug; grandchildren, Koty Griffith and Bailee Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
