James Michael “Mike” Hendrix, 61, of Prosperity, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at his home.
Born on October 12, 1964, in Columbia, he was a son of Jimmie and Barbara Ann Bouknight Hendrix. Mike had worked for a number of years at Food Lion and later as a meat inspector with the Clemson Extension Office. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Prosperity.
Mike had great love for his family, especially his grandchildren. His passion was being outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on the farm. He spent many hours roaming the family land with his faithful companion Max.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmie and Barbara Hendrix of Prosperity; his wife, Leighann Koon Hendrix; daughter, Coty Ann Hendrix (Justin) Weaver of Whitmire; sons, Kyle Saxon, Dustin (Brilah) Saxon, Devin Saxon and Christopher (Lindsay) Saxon; brothers, Paul (Kirsten) Hendrix of Spartanburg and Mark (Heather) Hendrix of Trenton; grandchildren, Lexi (Chase) Minick, Ireland Hendrix, Phoenix Wever, Addison Weaver, Audrey Saxon, Jackson Saxon, Edward Saxon, Arthur Saxon, George Saxon and Roman Saxon; nieces and nephews, Drew Hendrix, Katerina Hendrix, Cameron Hendrix, Brooks Hendrix and Mary Claire Hendrix.
Memorial services will be Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Prosperity First Baptist Church by the Rev. James Michael Walker.
The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-3000.
