Mike Knipe Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 27 to Mar. 8, 2024.
Michael ("Mike") Knipe, of Punta Gorda, FL, died on Wednesday, October 25th at the age of 67 after a short battle with cancer.

Mike was born to Ervin and Dorothy Knipe on June 29, 1956 in Torrence CA. He graduated from Biggs High School in 1974 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business/Agriculture from California State University, Chico. In 1979 he met and later married Marie Sutthoff and together they set off on a grand life adventure that included camping on the beaches of Mexico, trips throughout Europe and Asia, and recently a long walk on the Camino. A devoted sports fan with a particular passion for baseball and true to his roots, was an avid hunter and fisherman. Upon retirement he and Marie settled on the canals of Punta Gorda Florida with his prized fishing boat docked out the back door. Mike retired in 2022 as Vice President of Aftersales at Subaru of America.

Mike is survived by his wife, Marie, son, Kevin (Taylor), grandson Liam Michael, granddaughter Maddie Marie, brothers Greg and Gary (Suzzanne) Knipe, sister Karen (Cliff) Micalizio, and numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves a legacy of working hard, doing good, and loving and living with passion.

A Celebration of Life is taking place Saturday, March 16 from 11-1:00 p.m. at the Colonia Building in Biggs. Family and friends are welcome.
