Mike Larson, age 59, died on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home. The visitation will continue on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Alexandria Covenant Church in Alexandria with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
Michael Wayne Larson was born on February 26, 1965, to Barb Larson Josephson in Minneapolis MN. In his early years they lived with his grandparents and aunts and uncle. He enjoyed many adventures with his uncle David who was only 7 years older. When he was 6 years old, Mike’s mother Barb married Ray Josephson, adding 3 new siblings and a new father to their family of 3, Moving the whole family to Brandon MN. After living there for a few years they moved to Holmes City and added 2 brothers, completing their family. Mike spent most of his life living in Douglas County. He graduated from Jefferson high school in 1984 and start his career at Douglas Machines shortly after. In 2002 Mike married Shenoa Gouldin Larson and they moved to a piece of property that Mikes dad owned off Oscar Lake where they remained for the rest of his life. They were members of Alexandria Covenant church becoming members shortly before their marriage. We have many memories of Mike working with the TNT boys in Awana’s and becoming involved in the church fishing league. In 2010 Mike and Shenoa adopted 3 daughters (Cheyenne)(Aria)(Madison) completing their family. Mike always loved hunting and fishing and hanging out with his many friends. He would gladly tell you about the deer he shot with his bow or the many fishing trips he has had with Craig, Gramps or Danny, Ryan and Jeremy. In 2014 Mikes life changed due to an injury. Causing him to retire from Douglas Machines in 2018. Mike will be forever remembered for his laugh and constantly sharing his faith with everyone he met. Mike passed away on August 14 around 10:30 pm after a long battle with many health challenges. Shenoa was by his side and he had just spent the evening with many family members and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents Russell and Marg Larson; Walter and Hulda Josephson, his mother Barb Josephson and his brother Randy Josephson nephew Corey Josephson as well as, multiple aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his wife Shenoa Larson and their three daughters Cheyenne, Aria and Madison. His father Ray Josephson and siblings Steve (Therese) Josephson; Becky (Dave) Ashbaugh; Brenda (David) Scott; Raymond Josephson; Robert (Evan) Josephson; father and Mother in law David and Shelley Gouldin; Sister in laws Melinda (Nathan) De La Cruz; Tamara (Timothy) Junker; Brother In Law Seth (Elizabeth) Gouldin Nephews Jesse (Becky) Ashbaugh; Shawn Gouldin; Justin Josephson; Brody Junker; Bennett Junker & Lennox Gouldin; Nieces Tanya Ashbaugh & Avery Junker as well as many aunts, uncles; great nieces and nephews.
Although he leaves a big hole in our lives, we know that he is no longer in pain and finally home with his savior.
