Michael Wayne Long 63, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away October 24, 2023. He was born February 10, 1960 in Provo, UT to David Charles and Eloise Harmer Long. The family moved to Springville where Mike attended school, graduating from Springville High School. Throughout his life he was very active in sports including football, baseball, softball, and golf. Shortly after graduation he began working for Geneva Rock Products. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked there for forty years until his retirement in 2021.
Mike loved spending time with his family up at the family's ranch in the South fork of Provo canyon. He enjoyed helping his grandfather (Old Grizzly), father, brother and uncle moving the sheep in the spring from the South Fork Ranch to spend the summer at the ranch in the left-hand fork of Hobble Creek canyon.
On May 14, 1982 Mike married Jody Rominger, they later divorced. They were blessed with one daughter, Lacey Long Bringhurst. Mike loved Lacey with all of his heart and was so very proud of her many accomplishments. Mike was also blessed with two grandchildren. They brought so much happiness and joy to his life. He never missed attending any school or sporting event they were involved in.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother David E. Long. He is survived by daughter Lacey Bringhurst (Tyler) and his grandchildren Jaxon and Lexi Bringhurst. He is also survived by his sisters, Marilyn Terry, Patricia Heiner (Allen Ogden), Cheryl Pulley (Andy) and Teresa Long.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville. There will be a viewing held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
