Mike Montes

Mike Montes, fondly known as Mickey, was born on December 31st, 1968 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico. He was a charismatic man who brought brightness and laughter to every room he entered. Mike had a loving heart that cared deeply for his family, friends, and everyone he encountered. He had a unique brand of humor that was sure to put a smile on anyone's face, and his thoughtful nature was evident in his every action.
Mickey spent his life in Springfield, Massachusetts, a town he cherished for 54 years. In his professional life, he found fulfilment in his work with estate sales, where he was able to bring joy to others through his unmatched ability to find hidden treasures. His passion extended to his love for baseball, a sport he played with enthusiasm in his youth and enjoyed watching in his later years. Mickey was also known as a competent handyman who could fix anything that needed mending. Mickey enjoyed watching karate movies. As Robert Brault once said, "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." Mickey lived by this sentiment, valuing the simple pleasures of life, and encouraging those around him to do the same.
Mickey is survived by his loving mother, Carmen Sanchez; his father, Silvano Montes; Step Father Sixto Gonzalez; his caring sister, Mildred Flack; his brothers, Andy Padilla, Silvanito Montes; and his children, Sergio Osorio, Francisca Montes, Mike Montes Jr., and Joseph Montes. Each of them remember him as a beacon of love and laughter, whose memory will forever be cherished. As Alfred Lord Tennyson said, "I am a part of all that I have met," and Mike was indeed a part of everyone he encountered.
The celebration of Mickey's life will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home, located at 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, 01109.
