Mr. Mike Spearman

Foyle M. (Mike) Spearman, 68, of Columbia, died on Friday, August 25, 2023. Born in Columbia, SC, on July 12, 1955, he was a son of the late Foyle Spearman and Mary Elizabeth Touchberry Spearman. His first fulltime job was with the City of West Columbia Fire and EMS department before his employment with Richland County where he worked as a Code and Enforcement officer. He also enjoyed his work with WMHK Radio for over 20 years and volunteering with the Richland County Coroner's office in their C.A.R.E team. Mike served as a Deacon at Sandy Level Baptist Church and often delivered recorded tapes to homebound members. His free time was spent fishing, learning about God and anything Carolina Gamecock or Atlanta Braves sports related.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Hodgens Spearman; son, Marion Spearman (Rebecca), of Braselton, GA; daughter, Adrian Richardson (Bertram); grandchildren, Sydnee Richardson and Leighton Richardson; as well as a brother-in-law, William Dunn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Dunn.
The service for Mr. Spearman will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, September 2nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 o'clock.
